Macaroni and Cheese

Ingredients:
- 1 pound macaroni pasta
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions:
- Cook the pasta: Cook the macaroni according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Make the cheese sauce: Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in the flour until smooth. Gradually whisk in the milk until the mixture thickens.
- Season the sauce: Stir in the salt, pepper, Parmesan cheese, and cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
- Combine the pasta and sauce: Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until well coated.
- Serve: Serve immediately and enjoy!
Optional:
- For a richer flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or cayenne pepper to the cheese sauce.
- To make it extra cheesy, top with additional shredded cheese and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown.
